AILA Awards Ceremony

On a cool winter’s night, we travelled into Sydney amid the bright colours and lights of Sydney’s Vivid festival to Walsh Bay, where the 2022 AILA Awards Cocktail Ceremony was getting underway. Andreasens Green has been committed to providing support to the landscape industry, as a platinum partner of AILA, we know plants!

The night was opened with a heartfelt performance from Clarence Slockee acknowledging people and country with amazing rhythm and singing. There were 16 award categories and over 90 projects entered. It was amazing to see the variety of ideas, scope, connections with the natural environment and architectural achievements that were on display.

As a platinum partner Andreasens Green provided each attendee with a goodie bag and a small plant that can help green our city. With a national shortage of green spaces, Andreasens Greens’ goal was give everyone a tree to encourage them to help green our city.

Darren Mason, Sales Director at Andreasens Green, was privileged with the opportunity to provide the closing speech of the Ceremony. He began by congratulating all the winners, it was wonderful to see the projects, ideas, designs and talent of so many landscape architects. Events across the nation are looking different now, ‘after’ COVID-19 and living with it amongst us, has provided new challenges – venue space, capacities and movements, all of which AILA handled beautifully and thanks to Tessa Georgiana and her team creating such a successful event.

Darren touched on the complexities that the last 18 months have given and now looks forward to the future and what it might bring. The age old saying that something can’t be done is out the window and everyone is looking to what can be done, bigger and better. The government is looking towards a focus on global warming and it will be important and interesting to see how plants and architecture will play a role in it.

Darren talked of the 41 years that Andreasens has been in business and how working together with the landscape industry and more importantly landscape architects has shaped some amazing projects that Andreasens Green has been apart of. He summed up with, we look forward to seeing what comes in the next 12 months and hope to support and grow along with you.
