Description

An attraction selection for creating a great landscape with limited space. Also makes a lovely feature specimen due to its foliage and autumnal colour in a streetscape. Ideal to use where lateral space is restricted and an excellent choice for use in an avenue planting.

Habit : Columnar, fastigated, upright form

Foliage : Displays glossy, dark green, deeply lobed leaves. In Autumn, leaves turn to a deep red to bronze colour and in winter leaves will often persist until the new bud forces them to fall.

Soil Type : This tree is very adaptable to a wide range of site conditions including wet or dry, clay or sandy soils, but it performs best in full sun in moist, well drained soils.

Care and Maintenance : Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
